Dr. Risa Barrett attended Harvard University as an undergraduate and received a bachelor's degree cum laude in Biology. She earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis, and then completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Before moving to the Alamo area, she practiced for several years in Alameda County. She was a member of the Board of Directors and served as Treasurer for the Alameda County Veterinary Medical Association. Currently, Dr. Barrett is a member of the Contra Costa Veterinary Medical Association, and the CVMA and AVMA. In her free time, Dr. Barrett enjoys baking, hiking, reading, and spending time with her family and a house full of pets.
